The Grand Union Canal in The Midlands - Camp Hill Lock Flight to Kixley.
Following the route of the Grand Union Canal through the flight of Camp Hill Locks and eventually more out into the countryside.
The item below continues from our Ashtead Locks and Ashtead Tunnel to Bordesley Junction - Grand Union Canal topic. The Grand Union's towpath heading south is initially in excellent condition for both cyclists and walkers however there is quite a lot of graffiti around in places which is very sad. The canal does pass through ever nicer countryside though and has plenty of road and railway bridges going over it. Once passed the Flight of Locks at Camp Hill and the further south you walk on this stretch the nicer the bridges
are as they revert to old brickwork type construction rather than hideous concrete. The towpath does get ever narrower though especially from Rowood Bridge onwards and can be a little muddy and thus slippery after rainy weather.
