Still going south on the Grand Union Canal now passing through Denham, Uxbridge and Iver to Cowley Lock.
The following is a continuation from our Berkhamstead, Kings Langley, Cassiobury Park - Grand Union Canal item.
The route passes through pure countryside and is excellent for walking although the condition of the towpath does vary according to the weather. There are plenty of beautifully built bridges to admire on the way and also quite a few mostly tree-line canal locks to look at. On the subject of trees - the displays of the leaves in the Autumn are particularly good on this stretch of the Grand Union Canal.

Denham Deep Lock is particularly impressive especially when you stand beside the huge lock gates - this is the deepest lock on the Grand Union Canal - bringing the canal down by changing the water level by 11 feet 1 inch.
